Bio
Biography . . .
Lynne Cunningham is a native Californian; the artist grew up in Palm Springs in Southern California in the 1960’s, the youngest daughter in an artistic family. These early creative influences inspired Lynne throughout her life and she followed her father's footsteps, was educated as a landscape architect and worked for the State of California for 15 years. Ultimately the artist took up painting in response to a strong personal desire for expressive creativity.
Her artistic style is best described as contemporary impressionism.
"I paint the expression of a place; it is the visual concept and sensory images that I recall or observe when I visit a locale in the mountains, the beach or in the deserts of the West. The atmosphere, color, movement and texture is recorded in paint to recreate the mood of a place observed at a certain point in time. Painting subjects include landscape, architecture and my abstractions from life series".
